Playing Together
Everyone on Frenfall shares one world: the same monsters, the same townspeople, the same treasure. Meet in the tavern, set out together, and split what you find.
Meeting up
- Every tavern, inn and bar door opens on the same tavern in Daggerfall city, and every bank door on the same bank, so players from any town meet there.
- The chat box lists everyone online and the region each player is in.
- On WanderFall's overland map, other players nearby stand with their names, on foot, mounted, or with their cart, boat or camp.
- Anyone can rest at a campfire you set down; a bedroll rests only the player who laid it.
Adventuring together
- A monster one player kills is dead for everyone. What one player takes from a corpse or chest is gone for everyone, and one player loots a container at a time.
- Townspeople walk the same streets for everyone. A townsperson you talk to stops until your conversation ends.
- The monsters and people your quest places appear for everyone there, so friends can help you with it. The quest and its reward stay yours.
- Crime is your own: the watch your crime calls hunts only you.
- Your corpse opens only for you and for players you
/consent.
Chat and commands
Press / to type, Enter to send, Esc to stop typing and F10 to show or hide the chat box. Drag its title bar to move it and its corner to resize it.
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/who | Lists the players online. |
/corpses | Lists your corpses and where they lie. |
/consent name | Lets that player open your corpses. |
/look | Picks the class sprite other players see you as; /look default goes back to the one chosen from your skills. |
/netstat | Shows or hides a connection meter (ping, traffic, send queue) in the top right corner. |
Console commands: mp_login, mp_chars, mp_who, mp_say, mp_name, mp_netstat.
How others see you
- Every player is drawn as one of Daggerfall's class sprites, chosen from his character's skills, in the colors of the armor, weapon and cloak he actually wears. Type
/lookto pick a different one. - Third person: scroll the mouse wheel out to step behind your character, and keep scrolling to move the camera nearer or farther, up to 10 meters. Scroll in past the nearest point to go back to first person. You see yourself in your armor, swinging, shooting and casting. The camera keeps off walls and ceilings; riding, it goes back to first person.
Fair play
- Everyone plays the same game. The console's cheat commands do not work online, Daggerfall Unity's gameplay options follow the server's, and the required mods run with the server's settings.
- The server checks every save against its own record of your character, and rolls the fights, the loot and the prices itself.
