Frenfall

Daggerfall, together.

A co-op server for Daggerfall Unity. One Iliac Bay, one clock and one set of monsters, shared by everyone who plays.

How to install

One world, shared

The monsters are real

The Frenfall server runs every monster in dungeons, buildings and the wilds with Daggerfall Unity's own enemy AI. Everyone fights the same enemies, and a monster one player kills is dead for everyone. Corpses, treasure and shops are shared.

Playing together

One clock for everyone

A game day passes every real hour and nobody can stop it. Quest deadlines, loans, rented rooms and prison sentences keep running while you are logged out.

The one clock

The land decides the danger

Enemies do not grow with your level. Every corner of the Bay has its own danger, safe near the towns and deadly in the far wilds, by day and worse by night.

The danger map

Your character lives on the server

Your characters are saved on the server under your account, and the server keeps its own record of each one. Frenfall plays online only, and everyone plays by the same rules.

Saving

Survive the road

You grow hungry and thirsty as you play. Carry rations and a waterskin, rest at a bed, a fire or your bedroll, and cross the Bay on WanderFall's overland map.

Food, rest and travel

Guilds that know your worth

Guilds send you where your rank belongs. A new member clears the barrows near town; a senior one is sent into the wilds, or to the next kingdom over.

Guilds and quests

Quick start

  1. Install Daggerfall Unity 1.1.1 with the Daggerfall game files.
  2. Extract the required mods zip into DaggerfallUnity_Data/StreamingAssets.
  3. Put dfmp.dfmod in DaggerfallUnity_Data/StreamingAssets/Mods, start the game and enable every mod on the Mods screen. Frenfall shows there as DFMP Co-op.
  4. At the title screen, enter an account name and a password. A new name creates an account. On your first login Frenfall sets your load order and mod settings to the server's and asks you to restart once.

The full list of mods, the load order and what to do when something goes wrong are on the install page.
